My website was down for almost 3 hours early this evening. Not my fault! I swear!!
I couldn’t believe it when I couldn’t load it. I thought my browser was playing up, but nope. I was the first of my web hosting service’s customers to notice a problem. The very helpful customer service rep said he’d tell administration immediately and couldn’t wait to get me off the phone so he could pass on the message that although the server hardware was fine, there was something wrong elsewhere. I couldn’t understand him clearly, and it didn’t matter anyway. All that mattered was that they’d work on fixing it immediately. Unfortunately, there was no way for me to flash some sort of sign up to tell visitors that the website is being fixed and would be back up ASAP.
So, in future, if you get a browser error saying couldn’t connect to the site, and your browser cache isn’t stuffed to the brim, then you know my website hosting service is having difficulties, is looking into it, and will have it back up in a couple of hours or so.
