Ebook pre-order announcement time! As some of you may know, I’d wanted to create an accessible ebook for Brain Injury, Trauma, and Grief: How to Heal When You Are Alone back when I released the paperback in 2022. But I failed. I never could figure out how to create an accessible ebook. Meanwhile, Smashwords had merged with Draft2Digital (D2D) and they were taking their time migrating my account, meaning I couldn’t use their platform to create a regular ebook like I normally could. I nudged them.
At last, I had a D2D account with all my previously published ebooks up!
Now, all I had to do was figure out how to use D2D’s ebook creation tool to both create an ePub and set up a pre-order.
Brain Injury, Trauma, and Grief Ebook Pre-Order
After many, many research sessions to learn how, I dived in. Too many tries later, I settled on a design I liked and got all the links to work. Up the pre-order went. Out the ebook spread to all the online bookstores around the globe.
Pre-Order Brain Injury, Trauma, and Grief: How to Heal When You Are Alone today!
From your fave online bookstore.
From Amazon.
Now, I was ready to tackle the ebook for The Soul’s Awakening, book one of The Q’Zam’Ta Trilogy.
Oh boy, you’d think having just successfully launched the ebook pre-order for Brain Injury, Trauma, and Grief, it’d be no biggie replicating the steps for The Soul’s Awakening.
Hahahahaha!
The Soul’s Awakening Ebook Pre-order
I hemmed and hawed over the design. I kept finding errors in the DOC file D2D uses to create the ePub. Even after at least three reviews, I discovered the links had somehow vanished! I got to the pre-order finish line, panting, worn out, and ready to throw in the towel.
But I wasn’t done.
Although I can publish an ebook to Amazon via D2D, I prefer to use Amazon’s KDP service for authors. I’ve been using it for years, and I don’t want to change what works. Amazon is sooooo picky. I was right to do so. I discovered they’d changed their categories again! At least they simplified the rest of the pre-order set up. Only three easy-to-see pages of fields to fill in. Plus a new series page.
I’m always nervous about categories. Even though, I received genre category advice through the Plottr writing summit and workshops I attended earlier this year, I ended up as confused as ever. Why? Because Amazon’s categories didn’t jibe! Of course they didn’t! I mean, why make it easy when they can keep shifting the genre categories and throw authors’ efforts awry? Right?
Next tasks:
- Create the paperback for The Soul’s Awakening.
- Create a page on my website for my series and The Soul’s Awakening.
- Devise a marketing plan that’s almost free and doable within my fatigue and brain injury fences.
I hope these books pique your interest. Please pre-order now! And share this post to spread the word!!
