Angels: Who They Are and How They Help-What the Bible Reveals by David Jeremiah
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A nicely laid-out book, structured in a logical order, but the good information on angels is buried under a lot of proselytizing. One must be patient and dig down to keep track of the information on angels per se, of what the Bible and popular belief say about angels. I was hoping for more anecdotes or personal experiences to illustrate his points. For example, he talks about how he didn’t at first believe that angels carry the dead, but over time, he came to realise that it was so. At that point, he goes into a related anecdote, but not about him, of why he changed his mind on this. And one is left with questions. Very frustrating. Anyway, at least I learnt and confirmed the basics and Jeremiah liberally peppered the text with references, quotes, and other helpful inclusions. I would give this 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 as Goodreads doesn’t have half stars.
