My rating: 2 of 5 stars
For a first novel, it was okay. But the plethora of cliches got to be a bit much, and right at the end, in the very last chapter, I couldn’t continue anymore. So I set it aside for awhile, and when I got back to it, enough time had passed that I no longer felt the build-up of the obvious and hackneyed. I was able to enjoy the final pages.
As I had read book #7 in this series before this one, I know the Jack Reacher books get better. It is heartening to know a writer can improve and does not stay the same throughout his series!
